Jo Malone shower oil - Blackberry and Bay

It's been a long time since I last did a blog post, partly because we have been moving house, and partly because I'm lazy. We now live in Kensington which has been a bit of a culture shock moving from Shoreditch. The new move has meant that I didn't get a bath, despite being adamant that our next flat would have one - cue the luxury shower oil.

Firstly, it is quite a splurge for shower oil at £32, however, I see it as more of an experience than a shower oil, only to be used on special occasions. It has a thick consistency so a little does go a long way and the scent does last a long time on the skin after showering - good for layering if you already use the perfume. It does't lather much, which I don't mind, so if you're looking for bubbles it probably isn't right for you. The oil base meant that it does leave your skin soft after use which is good for dry winter skin.

It comes in 3 fragrances: Lime, Basil and Mandarin, Peony and Blush Suede, and the one I went for, Blackberry and Bay - I do wish they also did a Pomegranate Noir. I opted for the Blackberry and Bay and it is an autumnal yet fruity sent. I did find that there was a slight strange undertone to the oil that might just be down to my keen sense of smell and the base oils in the product, however, it didn't put me off. I just wish that the fragrance was as strong as the bath oil, however, that explains why the shower oil is slightly cheaper.

Overall I think that the shower oil is worth the splurge if you, like me, don't have a bath and are only looking to use it sparingly. However, if you do have a bath I would opt for the bath oil instead.
